About Us
We are a dedicated organization focused on empowering individuals with disabilities to live with greater independence, respect, and quality of life. Through inclusive programs and supportive services, we provide opportunities that promote personal growth, skill-building, and community integration.

Where it began
In the 1960s, Plus Industries began as the Melfort Branch of the White Cross Center, a community-based support organization assisting individuals transitioning from psychiatric care. Led initially by Reverend Meryl Thompson and nurse Doris Nordquist, the center operated on locally raised funds, evolving over the years to serve individuals with intellectual disabilities. By the 1970s, with government support, the center rebranded as the Melfort Activity Center and developed permanent programs for the disabled.
In 1981, the organization transitioned into Plus Industries Incorporated, reflecting a shift from a daycare approach to a work-based model, promoting dignity and self-esteem. Over the decades, Plus Industries expanded its facilities and programs, including a SARCAN recycling depot, supported employment, and residential services. Today, the organization operates in modernized facilities, offering a range of services to over sixty participants and proudly contributing to community well-being and inclusion.

To foster inclusion, respect, and quality of life for all individuals by providing services and programs that support independence, personal development, and community engagement.
