Contract Services Supervisor

This position is responsible to the General Manager in the delivery of the contract services program. The contract services program provides employment in the community for participants of Plus Industries Inc. and includes cleaning/janitorial, yard maintenance and other relevant duties. The position trains and supervises participants on the job.

Job Overview

Responsibilites

Administration

Ensures efficient use of participant and staff time.
Ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment.
Informs the Program Coordinator when supplies need to be purchased and will purchase supplies if directed.
Participates in inservice education.
Reports (eg: Participant Comprehensive Support Plans) as required to the Program Coordinator.
Maintains strict confidentiality of information about staff, customers and Plus Industries Inc. as per the Confidentiality Policy.
Maintains public contact and community interaction in a manner that will enhance the public relations of Plus Industries.
Adheres to safety standards appropriate to the individual contract.

Training and Supervision

Trains participant staff at Plus Industries Inc. to work in the contract services program. This includes all aspects of house cleaning, apartment/commercial cleaning, yard maintenance, as well as expectations of job behaviour and standards.
Plans and coordinated participant work assignments for all contracts.
Establishes onsite work procedures with other contract services staff within the Plus Industries guidelines.
Supervises participants on the job, considering the specific requirements of each customer to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Participates in evaluation of participants in conjunction with the Program Coordinator.

Other Duties as Required

The position can expect to perform other duties related to the contract services program that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

Knowledge

Grade 12 education.
Knowledge and experience in institutional or commercial janitorial cleaning services and yard maintenance services.
Completion of institutional or commercial cleaning courses or relevant education/training preferred.
Experience in working with seniors and persons with disabilities.
Knowledge or relevant occupational health and safety requirements.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Preference will be given to individuals with Community Living Division Level 1 and Level 2 training.

Skills

Effective communications skills.
Ability to train and supervise clients in residential and commercial cleaning services.
Ability to work independently.

Personal Qualities

Physically able to perform the duties related to the position.
Sincere desire to work in the field of intellectually challenged individuals.
A clear Criminal Record Check.
Must be ambulatory, i.e.; walking.

Additional Details

This position reports directly to the General Manager. The participant staff report to the Contract Services Supervisor.
